Wien, Austria
On Wednesday we got up for a sunrise (4:30am) walk to the train station to head to Wien, Austria. We have now been here for 2 nights and we have seen multiple seasons in each day...although predominately rain. Despite the weather we have still spent a lot of time walking around the beautiful city...which has been very different to the last few. This is more of a city like Sydney with lots of shops, restaurants, theme park etc...but with a lot more history. We are hoping to go on the 110m ferris wheel tonight if the weather is ok, and are going to go to a few pubs. Funnily enough...we are surrounded by 2 aussie pubs, and a travellers pub that is doing an aussie night tonight. Thats about all for now, off to have some more fun!

Cesky Krumlov - The Storybook City
Cesky Krumlov has been amazing. We are located in the old town which is surrounded by high walls, a moat and bears! Its very old and renaissance like and really beautiful. Definately a place to visit again. Today we got an inner tube from our hostel for free and tubed down the river and river rapids of the moat and vlatava river...while everyone else paddled their some what expensive kayaks and rafts lol... here are a few pics from the town...

Budapest - Prague
We spent our last afternoon in Budapest at the Gellert Spas, which is one of the most popular spas in Buda built around 1918. It was beautiful architectually both inside and out and was such a relaxing afternoon.
We left for Praha the next morning, which took about 7 hours. we have now been here for 2 nights and tonight is our last. it has rained on and off for the majority of the time we have been here, but we have made the most of it anyway. we have seen charles bridge, praha castle, the astronomical clock and seen some beautiful views of praha which you see in the INXS film clip - never tear us apart! while here, we have found a quaint little pub which is literally next door to our hostel and serves half litre beers of Staropramen 10 deg (NOT 12 deg) for less than $1.50. We also found some great hot dogs too. otherwise, the food here has been very average.
tomorrow we leave for Cesky Krumlov...cant wait!

Budapest
On Saturday morning, Rac and I took the 10am train from Zagreb to Budapest. It took approx 7 hours...and was for me a loooong journey as, it was not air conditioned and the AUD1.80 triple shots of vodka from the night before got the best of me and left me feeling somewhat shit (all worth it though).
anyway...so we arrived at our hostel which is hidden amongst the most over-priced touristy restaurants. it is in an old building with a really old lift which have the wire screens around them with the two sets of doors you have to open to get in...i was kind of hesitant when i first saw this lol. however, its a small and quiet place, with a great free breakfast!
while we have only been in the city for less than 24 hours, we have walked and walked and seen some amazing sites. the famous chain bridge, the parliament, a palace, a bascillica and more. the architecture here is so old and beautiful. its like nothing i have ever seen before. i would have to say that this is already my favourite city. but by saying that this is my favourite city you are probablz wondering why i am inside writing? that is because, apart from walking all morning, it is sunday...and sundays in europe are dead. nearly everything is closed and there are not many peoplé around. so it was a good chance to write. I also intended to put some photos up, but the hostel owners have hidden the box so im not able to upload with the usb...sorry!
so, in the next few days, we are going to head to one of the cities famous spas, visit the grand market and see as much as we can of this amazing city...cant wait to tell you more about it.
hope you are all well at home and not missing us too much xox

croatia part 2
Zdravo again! wow so what an amazing past week we have had. We took a 2 hour bus ride up to zadar last thurs and at first it looked like we where pretty much in the sticks...although as we kept walking we were even more surprised to see that our directions lead us across a bridge through the stone arches into the old town. Our hostel was great, and the town was beautiful. We found some amazing pizza at a little pizza place kinda equivalent to wangi pizza only the pizza was triple the size and it was so delicious we ate it both nights! we spent our day in Zadar swimming in the sea, working on our tans, and enjoying the european summer.
our time there went quick, and on saturday morning at 6:00am we packed our bags and began our 15 hour train ride to Osijek. we arrived in osijek at 9:15pm and talked our way into a lift to our hostel by some local guys...and yes it was safe, they were watching the world cup and had nothing better to do at half time XD our hostel was built on top of a night club, so we spent the night drinking and dancing to 90's songs and croatian hits.
Despite the hangovers the next day, we caught a bus to vukovar to meet the family. on the bus ride we found out that the family was not expecting us for another 2 weeks...so after exploring the town, deda picked the three of us up in a little 3 door red 80's yugo. the excitement and joy from deda and buba was incredible. oh and just to clue you in, they speak not a word of english, and our croatian is limited to say the least! it was the most amazing 2 days though and i felt so blessed to experience it, learning about the family, the town, seeing photos, getting a tour, eating super deda and super bubas delicious food, playing charades to convey stories and much much more. something we will never forget. OH plus they grow the most tasty apricots ever!
Ok so i've written a novel, and better finish up here. We are now in Zagreb and sadly Sarah has left us...but now we are continuing the next part of our adventure.
miss you all xoxox
