Spain/Belgium

Spain ended just as awesome as it started. We had a Paella night at the hostel...which ended up being the cheapest and most delicious paella...topped off with Sangria! We visited the Archivo General De Indias which had original maps from Christopher Columbus, we visited the cathedral where his official tomb is and climbed the Giralda Tower. From there it was back to Madrid for the night before flying to Belgium.

Brussels is amazing! In the three days we have been here we have eaten & drunken ridiculous amounts of fries, waffles, stoofvless, chocolate and beer. Ther friterias here are so good and we went to the pub which hold the guiness world records for the number of beers it serves - 2004! We have also day tripped to Ypres (iper)and saw the Menin Gate which is a memorial for soliders of the commonwealth from the western front & also visited the Tyne Cot Cemetary which is the the largest british empire military cemetary. It was incredible to see...

Tomorrow we are off to Amsterdam!

I googled Ypres, the history with the Menin Gate & Cemetary would have been very moving. You've certainly experienced some wonderful historical tributes in your travels.
Did you see any sign of Herge in your travels?
Take care in Amsterdam while at the party hostel.
